Not a single bed in my life do I have which I bought for and own myself that I slept on/sleeping on. It has always been a bed my parents bought for me, a bed in a dorm room, many many airbnb rooms, some hotel rooms, and now a furnished apartment that I live in. Showing is a photo of my first day of moving into my very first and last dorm life that I had in Cranbrook Academy of Art.

The way we possess things, is often related to early childhood experiences. My grandmother used to give us handmade socks, a common Christmas gift in the rural area, where I grew up. Even if similar socks must exist in shops nowadays, I never found them neither was I even looking for them. This type of socks is so related to my upbringing that I cannot imagine it to be bought. The feeling of keeping warm exceeds the sensation and becomes a feeling of heritage and transmission.

Blankets! all of these photographed are handmade. I love the cheerful way they adorn my home and bring comfort. I have never bought a blanket and I have so many! Some were made and given to me from my grandmother. She used fabric collected from old pieces of clothing to make patchwork quilts. Many blankets came into my possession at my marriage and upon the birth of my children. It seems to be a favorite gift to give on such occasions.
