The threads of our lives run deep into psychic and spiritual worlds, and there are higher and deeper senses, entrenched in a largely unconscious physical brain. We coexist in parallel worlds, at the time of sleep, which becomes the only barrier between us and sleep. It stands like a one-way mirror between our ordinary consciousness and the higher sense of being. “Mirror” is symbolic, of matter-energy barrier not a static veil but a dynamic one. Sleep is largely an automatic function of human conscious death, but death has an immensely greater degree. Sleep and Death are hence born from the same fabric of human consciousness.

Even though I have never experienced any situations that put me close to death, the object that fascinated me the most by its power to create a new atmosphere, are matches. Just by an abrupt movement on a surface, it is possible to create fire. This element is on the one hand side a destructor of life, and still so beautiful that watching flames for some time can create the feeling of entering another level of existence.
